Does your dog hate nail
clippers? Mine does. She flinches and
tries to pull back. More than once, she’s been clipped to the quick (causing
bleeding), so we don’t like using clippers, either.
That’s why we were happy to discover the Dremel 7300-PT 4.8V Pet Nail Grooming Tool. This nifty and affordable gadget allows us to file her nails easily and comfortably. Sure, it took a little getting used to the first time. But the grinding action is pretty similar to what she experiences at the dog groomer. So she adjusted fast.
(We also use it to trim the nails of our particularly persnickety cat.)

The Dremel 7300-PT is durable and
easy to operate. It does not include a guard, like similar pet-specific tools.
But a careful user can make it work simply and safely.
This cordless 4.8-volt device,
which is compatible with other Dremel bit accessories, sports two speeds. It is
lightweight (weighing less than 1.5 pounds) and measures eight inches long. The
kit includes multiple sanding heads, battery, and three-hour charger). The
grinding stone, made of silicon carbide, holds up for many dog nail trims. A
one-year warranty covers parts.

This unit is very similar to the Dremel
7300-N/8 MiniMite 4.8-Volt Cordless Two-Speed Rotary Tool.
Priced around $25 (for Amazon Prime customers), the Dremel 7300-PT is a handy pick for dog owners. And it’s not a
bad thing to have on-hand for the household tool kit, either.
