It seems like back in the day, dogs had more dog-like names like Spike or Scooter or Nip or Buttons or some such. And gradually naming them human names became more common. I think it's starting to tip the other way now. As long as it's something they can understand. Speaking of - my son's GF rescued a cute pooch recently and chose to change its name. It is under one year old. I was wondering about how long it might take for him to adjust to the new name. He's smart, if that helps. Thanks and I enjoyed your post.
